Time to bake...finally

Thanks to the help of my little fox( the name of his group in the nursery) I baked last weekend!!

2 beautiful heart shape chocolate muffins with buttercream frosting.

I used the porcellain pink heart form IKEA,and the frostings recipe was from  a blog. I was truly happy for the frosting, simply because finally it was the consistensy I wanted.

It is really lovely to bake with your own children, they just love it. I recommend to you all.

Grazie all'aiuto del mio volpino(la volpe è il simbolo del gruppo di cui fa parte mio figlio all'asilo nella sua classe)ho finalmente rifatto i muffins lo scorso weekend.

2 bellissimi muffins al cioccolato cn forma a cuore e frosting al burro.

Ho utilizzato le formine rosa IKEA, e la ricetta per fare il frosting l'ho recuperata da un blog.

Profondamente felice perchè finalmente il frosting(o glassa) è venuto fuori con una consistenza perfetta!

E' piacevolissimo sfornare dolci con i propri bambini,e anche loro si divertono molto. Lo consiglio come attività pomeridiana!

I just discovered in the supermarket two great magazines, full of ispirations for my little ideas.

Making and Mollie Makes

The are both lovely made ( I love even the type of paper they use ) and feature beautiful pictures.

I found useful to read about other talents stories, because even if I just started these stories help me  to believe that the love for sewing,crafting and cooking can led to a proper profession.

Since I stepped in my friend Elizabeth workshop at her house last december, I felt the urge to create.

It's like a all new word opened in front of my eyes, I felt like a new life inside of me, a beautiful sensation.

I don't know yet if it will make a living but what I know is that I enjoy so much and if I can call it "work" it will be a dream came true.

Next saturday there is another Top Sales in a church not far from my house,I'm so exited!

I got so many things that I want to make, let's hope that I will have the time :-)

Butternut Squash Soup yummy yummy in my tummy :-)

Here we are...I made my first bird with fabric but it came out awful!! So disappointed, but I don't give up easily and I will give another go tomorrow.

Today I had a great dinner with my fav soup of all times...Butternut squash with Irish bread so yummy!

Here is the recipe:

2 Tablespoon olive oil

1 Medium onion

1 Medium butternut squash

1 Medium potato

4/6 Cups of vegetable broth

Sea salt, ground pepper to taste.

Heat the olive oil in a large soup pot. Add onion and potato. Cook until the potato begun to soften and the onion turns translucent, about 3 to 4 minutes.

Add the butternut squash. Stir to combine with  the vegetables, stir in the vegetable broth and season with sea salt and pepper.

Bring to boil,reduce the heat and shimmer until the butternut is fork-tender,about 15-25 minutes.

Use an immersion blender to puree the soup. Alternatively let the soup cool and use a traditional blender.

I use my Thermomix( Bimby ) and I love it because it's pratical, easy and quick.

I don't have to use a blender and a pan because Thermomix do it all in one! Best product ever together  with my beautiful MacBook :-)

The Big day,my debut!

I was excited, and a bit nervous but it all went well. Here are few pics of that day.

Si si come dicevo?? mai perdersi d'animo!

La risposta dall'asilo è arrivata ed è  stata positiva , potrò almeno vendere i biscottini.

Ho già acquistato delle tazze dove penso di metterli e stavo rovistando i siti online in cerca di bustine trasparenti,e ho trovato pure quelle.

Il negozio dei miei sogni :) Lakeland, hanno pure un prezzo modico e domani chiamerò il negozio più vicino a me per informarmi che abbiano questo prodotto,in modo da non dover aspettare la consegna e tantomeno pagarla!http://www.lakeland.co.uk

Ieri ho finito un porta carte(cardsholder Oyster) in jeans e bottoni, e poi in jeans e feltro ho fatto un porta cellulare ma lo stile non mi convince...mmm...ci penserò su.

Intanto l'ansia fa capolino...riuscirò a fare tutto quello che ho intenzione di fare?Il tempo vola e io sono sempre superimpegnata.

In progetto ho una tela che invece di dipingere penso di cucire,delle vecchie cornici da decorare,i bunting ( o festoni ) e dei vecchi body del mio bimbo che voglio rivisitare( ravvivare lo stile ) in modo da renderli interessanti!

Intanto oggi fuori casa Sugar and Spice abbiamo fatto una Snowwoman....che però ha un cuore tutto fashion :) vi posto le foto per  rendervi l'idea.

A presto le foto anche delle ultime mie creazioni...quando capirò come scrivere il nome sulle foto...Somebody help me pleaseeee!!

The Bargain Sale at the Parkside Nursery

Si presenta per me la prima opportunità per farmi conoscere nel vicinato,ma viene quasi soffiata!

Vi spiego, il Parkside (l'asilo che frequenta il mio bimbo) sta organizzando un bargain sale in modo che si possano vendere oggettini fatti a mano o bigliettini di auguri o anche solo cose usate(vestitini dei bimbi,oggettini,cds ect),il che è una bella idea,ma taglia un pò le ali a me visto che oggi informandomi mi è stato detto che il cibo non portà essere venduto.

Cadono così tutte le idee che avevo in mente,tra cui i biscottini a forma di cuore confezionati in scatoline o anche solo i muffin che volevo vendere così sfusi.

Naturalmente mai perdersi d'animo,ho chiesto già se si potevano vendere non tanto i muffin ma anche solo delle confezioncine con dei biscotti visto che, anche se non festeggio ,avverrà il giorno di san valentino dei biscottini al cioccolato a forma di cuore sarebberò ideali.

Dunque dovrò concentrarmi sul decorare le cornici che ho acquistato al charity shop, dei cuscinetti profuma biancheria,ancora cuoricini, e se riesco anche oggettini come portachiavi in feltro,spille fatte di nastrini e bottoni e portamonetine mescolate magari ad oggetti che ho e che nn ho che farne!

Penso che reciclare sia importante e bello.

Qui in Uk si usa molto reciclare si compra nei mercatini dell'usato, si fà beneficenza anche solo acquistando nei charity shop oppure si organizzano gli swap party, delle feste in cui ognuno porta qualcosa che non usa e può andare via portandosi qualcosa!

Dopo tutto con la crisi che stiamo vivendo perchè no?!? 

Oggi  sarà la giornata dell'ispirazione :) cercherò via you tube o google immagini delle idee carine intanto vi posto la foto dei cuoricini che ho fatto qualche mese fà! A presto.
